![]() Chapter Officer RetreatAfter elected in May, the FFA Officers gather with their advisors in the summer for a retreat where they prepare the years activities, fundraisers and take time to get to know each other. | ![]() COLCThe Chapter Officer Leadership Conference is hosted at Mill Creek in September. This conference is specifically designed by regional and state officers, for chapter officers to hone in their leadership skills. | ![]() Tehama District FairThe Tehama District Fair is held in Red Bluff in early May. Los Molinos students raise livestock such as lambs, rabbits, swine, cattle and goats to exhibit at the Fair. |

![]() O&C Public SpeakingThe Shasta Section Opening & Closing Ceremonies Contest is held at West Valley High School, in Cottonwood. This November contest is a great opportunity for both novice and advanced students to compete in team public speaking, farm records, cooperative marketing and the Best Informed Greenhand (BIG) contest. | ![]() MFE/ALAMade For Excellence (MFE) and Advanced Leadership Academy (ALA) are two great conferences offered to FFA members. These conferences allow students to gain new skills and ideas they can utilize throughout their career. | ![]() Etna Speaking InvitationalThe annual Etna Speaking Invitational is held at Etna High School. This is a great first contest so that members can get a sense of their selected public speaking contest. |
![]() Tulelake InvitationalThe Tulelake Invitational gives members the opportunity to participate in both Career Development Events (CDE) and Leadership Development Events (LDE). | ![]() Shasta Sectional ContestThe Shasta Sectional Contests are held at Shasta College in Redding. Students who place in the top three at this contest move on to the regional level. Contests include Extemporaneous Public Speaking, Creed Speaking, Prepared Public Speaking, Job Interview, Impromptu Speaking and Parliamentary Procedure Contests. | ![]() Chico State FFA Field DayThe Chico State Field Day is held in March at the Chico State Farm and Butte College Campus. Students compete in various Career Development Event areas, from livestock judging to agronomy. |
![]() UC Davis FFA Field DayThis field day is open to FFA and 4-H high school students from California and surrounding states. These high school students come to Davis to compete in 24 different agriculturally based judging contests, ranging from horse judging to agriculture computer applications. | ![]() Merced College FFA Field DayIn March the Merced College Field Day hosts the following contests; Ag. Mechanics, Best Informed Greenhand, Dairy Cattle Judging, Farm Power, Farm Record Book, Job Interview, Land Judging, Livestock Judging, Milk Quality & Dairy Foods, Nursery Landscape, Small Engines, and Vegetable Crop Judging. | ![]() Modesto Jr. College FFA Field DayMJC’s Field Day brings over 1,800 FFA students from around the state to practice their craft in March, honing their skills for sectional and state competitions to come. |
![]() Ag Day at the CapitolIn March students from Agriculture Programs throughout the state have the exciting opportunity to meet their legislators, tour the capitol museum and visit a multitude of agricultural booths that display the numerous specialty agricultural commodities produced in California. | ![]() Superior Regional MeetingThe Superior Regional Meeting is held in March at California State University, Chico. This meeting is held to elect the new Superior Region Officer Team, vote on any issues and award State Degree recipients. | ![]() Frenso FFA Field DayThe Fresno FFA Field Day is held the Saturday of State Convention and is one of the last contests available to help prepare students for State Finals the following month. |
![]() State FFA ConferenceOver four thousand FFA members from across the state travel to Fresno to attend the State FFA Conference. The conference is loaded with leadership workshops, motivational speakers, a career fair and much more! | ![]() State FFA FinalsAfter a year of traveling to dozens of judging contests to compete in Career Development Events, students may qualify to compete for the State Championship Title in their respective CDE area. State Finals is held at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in early May. | ![]() Project CompetitionThe Shasta Section Project Competition is held in May for students to showcase their outstanding Supervised Agricultural Experience Projects (SAEP's). Once called, contestants enter a room with two judges experienced in the agriculture industry and a student timer from Shasta College. Students have10 minutes to present an in-depth PowerPoint about their projects. Judges then ask the contestants questions regarding their project and evaluate their responses. |
![]() Spring BanquetAfter a year of active participation and service to the Los Molinos FFA Chapter, students and other notable individuals are recognized for their hard work. Also, members wishing to take on a greater leadership role are encouraged to run for FFA chapter office and are elected at the years final banquet. |
